On clear days we have excellent views of Mount Meru and of Mount Kilimanjaro. We can choose to game drive, to go on a game walk escorted by an armed ranger, or to do a canoe ride on one of the soda lakes. Day 4/18th July/2023: full day Game View in Northern Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

We wake early for a sunrise game drive in the Serengeti at dawn if you wish. This should be discussed with your safari guide the previous night. After breakfast enjoy a full day game drive in this area. Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in this Mara River area, with prides of lion up to 30 strong, however from July to October the area turns into a wildlife paradise. The key feature is the Mara River and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north on one day and then back south a few days later. Please take note – finding a crossing is very difficult and is sometimes a matter of luck. A herd can be seen next to river and only decide to cross or not cross until a couple of days later. The Elewana Serengeti Migration Luxury Camp is the embodiment of the ‘camp’ experience. Located next to the famous Grumeti River which is home to resident hippos that bark and wallow their days away, Elewana Serengeti Migration Luxury Camp has become synonymous with low-impact high-action game viewing in a landscape that is untouched since the dawn of time.

Old World Charm, New World Hospitality

The Manor at Ngorongoro, located in the North West Tanzania and with its 9 luxurious cottages (18 Suites), family cottage, and magnificent main Manor House, is one of the first safari lodges of its kind to blend East African hospitality with old-world Afro-European architecture and decor. Located adjacent to the famous Ngorongoro conservation area and within a 1500-acre Arabica coffee estate, The Manor is reminiscent of an elegant up-country farm home in the Cape Dutch-style of architecture.

Day 9/23th July/2023: Tarangire National Park, Tanzania

After breakfast you will be driving to Tarangire Nationa Park, in this region, Hemmingway often went on big game hunting safaris. After the formation of the national parks in 1970, they turned the seasonal marshes and the endless savannah that one sees today into, once again, profitable hunting grounds. Today however, cameras thankfully have replaced the elephant guns. The Tarangire National Park has the highest density of elephants in North Tanzania and you can view these animals all year round in which the herds often can reach an impressive number of 300 animals. The Tarangire River has water all year round and during the dry season, between July and October, many animals from the surrounding areas come to the river for drinking. If you visit the park during the dry season, you will witness an unforgettable natural wonder as you can observe wonderful creatures such as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests and zebras as well as various types of antelopes and gazelles and with a little luck, you can also spot a python! This area is during the dry season also a haven for bird watchers with over 550 different species including the Masai Ostrich -the world largest bird. Around lunchtime, you will stop at a suitable picnic place before the afternoon is dedicated to more wildlife watching.
