Overview
A Great Migration & Beach holiday in Tanzania is hard to beat with the Serengeti being the setting of the largest herd movement of animals on the planet and Zanzibar offering some of the best tropical beaches in the world. Enjoy the endless savannah plains, overwhelming wildlife, wildebeest calves being born, breathtaking sunsets, and the sound of the Indian Ocean that gently rolls onto the white beaches. This itinerary is best from Late November to End of March or early April however it can be applicable in other seasons of the year.

Day 2: Tarangire National park
Wake up early in the morning for hot shower, and breakfast. After breakfast you pack your stuffs and get ready for safari heading to Tarangire national park. On the way you will be packed with your lunch box. This lovely park posse the largest concentrations of elephants in the world and the highest number of breeding bird species. Also as you drive deep the park you will be welcomed by over hundred years Baobab trees. During the dry season, Tarangire National park is packed with huge number of wildlife including big cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, but also the seldom seen Kudu, Oryx, and Gerenuk. If you are lucky you can even spot the tree-climbing python.
Later in the afternoon you will have you lunch at the picnic site while enjoying the good view of the park and the wild animals who are coming closer to the picnic site. After lunch you will proceed with game drive to explore the wildlife all over the park. Later in the evening drive out of the park and head to a small town of Mto Mbu for hot shower, dinner and overnight at Olea Africana Lodge on full board basis.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
After early morning breakfast, you go on a walking tour in a small town of Mto wa Mbu from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. This three hours walking tour will expose you to the lives of over 120 different tribes from across Africa who are living there and forming a colorful mix of customs. Your walking guide will take you to rice and banana plantations, a local beer factory, Maasai Boma, and a carving factory to discover the traditional way of life of the villagers.
After three hours walking tour you will break for 30minutes, getting packed with lunch box and proceed to Lake Manyara National park, for a 6 to 7 hours game drive. Lake manyara National park is just five minutes drive from Mto wa Mbu Town. Lake Manyara is known for its huge soda lake filled with pink-hued flamingos, to conclude its bird paradise nature, a large population of baboons, incredible birdlife and breathtaking views. Also you will see other large species like giraffes, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, flamingos, and if you are lucky you can spot a tree-climbing lion which is unique and only found in Lake Manyara National park. In the late afternoon, you enjoy your lunch at picnic site while also enjoying the amazing views of alkaline / soddash Lake Manyara. After lunch continue with game drive to explore the wild nature.
Later in the evening, your driver guide will drive you to a small town of Karatu for evening hot shower, dinner and overnight at Farm of Dream luxury Lodge in the views of Ngorongoro.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
Today you set off towards the Ngorongoro Crater for a beautiful game drive. It shelters close to 30.000 animals including the Big Five. The crater teems with zebras, buffaloes, lions, wildebeest, warthogs, baboons, elephants, flamingos, ostriches, hippos, cheetahs, and a small population of the rare black rhino. The beautiful colors and dancing clouds make the crater almost surreal. Because of its natural beauty, the Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. In the late afternoon continue to Rhino Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Ndutu area
Today you will explore one of the areas with the best wildlife viewing during the green season. Ndutu area is the zone located between South Serengeti and North West Ngorongoro where the Great Migration comes to graze and calve between Decembers to April. It is short grassland area with high nutritious grass due to the minerals found in the area. It will be an amazing experience to see all those hoofed mammals, followed by iconic predators, migrate in a clockwise circle every year. The forest around Lake Ndutu is home to beautiful resident wildlife. In the afternoon you enjoy your lunch at the picnic site while experiencing this amazing wildlife event. Later in the evening your driver guide will drive you to your Olakira Asilia Luxury Tented Camp or Lemala luxury tented camp for dinner and overnight on full board basis.
Day 6: Ndutu area
Wake up early in the morning breakfast, then packed with lunch box, and get ready for another full day game drive, moving with the herds across the plains exploring the Great Migration. Ndutu is one of the very few places in the parks where the off-road game drive is permitted and the best place to see hunting lions and cheetahs. All six big cat species reside here year-round – leopard, lion, cheetah, caracal, serval, and African wildcat due to their food guarantee. Other animals you can spot include hyenas, warthogs, elephants, giraffes, and many more.
Later in the afternoon you will break to have lunch at the picnic site. After lunch you continue with great migration exploring, taking photos of the unique wildlife nature at ndutu area, and asking important questions to your professional driver guide etc. later in the evening you drive back to the Olakira Migration Camp or Lemala Camp for dinner and overnight in full board basis.
Day 7: Serengeti National Park
This day you will leave Ndutu area, packed with your lunch boxes and drive to central part of Serengeti National Park. Game on route will be logical and for sure you will enjoy the endless plains of Serengeti. On the way you will find a large concentration of different animal species. Later in the afternoon, you will break for lunch at the picnic site. After lunch you proceed with game drive while heading to Central Serengeti. Discover all this beauty on an afternoon game drive
Later in the evening your professional driver guide will drive you Heritage Luxury tented Camp for dinner and overnight on full board basis.
Day 8: Serengeti National Park
Wake up early in the morning for breakfast. After breakfast spend the morning game drive in the stunning Serengeti National Park, where over a million wildebeest and zebras crowd together, hooves kick dust and lions hunt at dawn. This wildlife hotspot is absolutely one of the most breathtaking natural wonders in Africa. Later in the afternoon you drive back to Heritage Luxury Tented Camp to enjoy your Hot Lunch. After lunch your driver guide will drive you back to the wild for afternoon game drive. Enjoy the infinite plains, overwhelming wildlife, breathtaking sunsets, and the sound of elephants trumpeting in the distance. Later in the evening you drive back to Heritage Luxury Tented Camp for hot shower, dinner and overnight on full board basis.
Day 9: Serengeti – Zanzibar
After the early morning breakfast, your driver will transfer you to Seronera Airstrip for your local flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, our organized professional driver will meet and transfer you to the Next Paradise Boutique Resort for dinner and overnight in a beachfront bungalow. This resort is protected by a coral reef and set along the white sand, palm-fringed beach offering views of the Indian Ocean.
Day 10 and 11: Zanzibar
Today will be a leisure to relax or explore as you like. Wash off the dust of your wildlife safari with a dip in the Indian Ocean. Enjoy laid-back beach life or go active with some surfing, sailing, snorkeling or scuba diving in these crystal blue waters. Swim among the wonderful reef fish and enjoy the sights of many diverse marine creatures like turtles, rays, barracudas, octopus, Moorish idols, and many more. Or sail towards the golden sunset on a traditional sailing boat while you spot pods of dolphins. Zanzibar offers a wide variety of activities. Â All meals and overnight will be at the Next Paradise Boutique Resort on full board basis.
Day 12:Â Zanzibar
Today you drive to Jozani Forest, the last indigenous forest on Zanzibar with impressive mangroves. Here you can view different kinds of monkeys, like the rare red colobus monkeys, trees, and plants. You continue your tour to the historical heart of this island, Stone Town. It is a fascinating labyrinth of narrow streets and alleyways that are a joy to explore. Discover the architectural gems, tasteful restaurants, churches, markets and gardens. There are plenty of interesting places to visit on a cultural tour, like the House of Wonders, Darajani market place, The Oman Sultan’s Palace and the Slave Market. The mix of Arab, Persian, Indian and European influences makes Stone Town absolutely unique. Later in the noon, you return to Next Paradise Boutique Resort for dinner and overnight on full board basis.
Day 13: Zanzibar
Today will be at leisure to relax or explore as you like. All meals and overnight will be at Next Paradise Boutique Resort.
Day 14: Departure
This morning and beginning of the afternoon will be a leisure time. You may opt to relax or explore as you like. Later in the afternoon you take hot lunch before being transferred to Zanzibar Airport and fly to Dar es Salaam for your International departure flight.
