During your travel to Tanzania; Aardvark Expeditions team will show you the best attractive areas including the Serengeti National Park, well known for The Great Wildebeest Migration which refers to the huge annual movement of vast numbers of wildebeest accompanied by large numbers of zebras and gazelles searching for food and water between Tanzania and Kenya. In Kenya the migration stretches to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, bordering Serengeti National Park in the north.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrive at JRO – Arusha:
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport / Arusha Airport, you will be met by our company representative and assisted at the airport and after going through Immigration, Baggage Claim and Customs, you will be transferred to Arusha Planet Lodge to overnight on Bed and Breakfast basis.
Day 2 – Tarangire National Park:
After breakfast, your safari will set off towards the Tarangire National Park. This park with its savannah, seasonal swamps and the life-giving Tarangire River is home to huge elephant herds – literally hundreds of animals. Animals gather at the river and besides elephants you should see mongoose, giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, dik-diks, waterbucks, warthogs and reedbucks all year round. After an extensive game drive, you will leave the park in the late afternoon and head to the Tarangire Simba Lodge to overnight on Full Board basis.
Day 3 – Serengeti National Park:
After breakfast you will drive through to the lush highlands where crops such as wheat, corn and coffee are grown. Travelling through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area you might stop for a breath-taking view over the Ngorongoro Crater before you continue to the Serengeti National Park. Serengeti means “endless plains” in the language of the Masai and you will see the grassland savannah stretching to the horizon. Bizarre rock formations dot the grassy landscape where predators roam. Blue wildebeests, Thomson’s gazelles, zebras and buffaloes are on their menu.Through the high and open roof of the safari vehicle you will be able to enjoy the diversified habitats and landscapes of the park. You will arrive in the Seronera Valley for an evening meal and overnight stay at Serengeti Simba Lodge on Full Board basis.
Day 4 – Full Day Serengeti National Park:
After breakfast, you will enjoy the entire day is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. The areas that you will visit will depend upon where the migrating herds are to be found. Predators usually follow closely behind the trekking animals. During the short rainy season in November and December the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June they return up north. As the migration depends upon the yearly rains, the location of the herds might vary from year to year but your guide will know where to see them best. You will spend another night at Serengeti Simba Lodge on Full Board basis.
Day 5 – Ngorongoro Crater Tour:
Wake ups call at 6:00 am, in order to have just a cup of hot coffee and then proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area authority. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for crater tour. This is world heritage site; the incomparable Ngorongoro crater is the world’s largest “caldera”. Dominated by cliffs standing some 600 meters high and presenting a sheer drop down to a wide open space of some 246 square km, and you may see everything from elephant to lion, and if you’re lucky, the near-extinct black rhino, all amongst large herds of zebra and wildebeest. In the afternoon you’ll exit the crater and then drive to Karatu Simba Lodge to overnight on Full Board basis.
Day 6 – Lake Manyara National Park:
Have breakfast at 7:00 am and then depart for Lake Manyara National Park. The park is known for its over 400 bird species, primate-filled forests and grassy plains. A large area of the park is covered by the alkaline Lake Manyara, the seasonal breeding grounds for large colonies of flamingos and many more waterfowls. The park is also home to giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, impalas and groups of noisy monkeys and baboons. After an extensive game drive you will drive back to Arusha where you will spend the night at Arusha Planet Lodge on Bed and Breakfast basis.
Day 7 – Airport Departure Transfer:
You will be provided a private departure transfer to the airport in order to fly back home or to Zanzibar Island to proceed with your own arrangements.
